Halloween cupcakes!  I decided that since the butter I had in the fridge had just passed its expiration date (but it was still ok, ok?), I needed to get my baking skillzzz (or for those who know me personally, my lack there of baking skillzzz) to some yummy usage. 

My two favorite recipe sites are www.allrecipes.com, and www.foodnetwork.com.  They began my journey into cooking, especially cooking from scratch – and since I’m a huge review nut and have-to-have-to-have-to know what other people think of a recipe/restaurant/place of action before I muster up the courage to try it myself (yes I know, how superfiically pathetic, but whatevs), these two sites provide the comfort and joy… ohhhh tidings of comfortttt and joy of tried and true recipes.

The cupcakes are chocolate, with a cream cheese/chocolate chip filling.  The frosting is traditional buttercream (and NOT from the my two favorite sites, but the best buttercream I’ve made and tried..!) – spiked with a food coloring cocktail.
